Daily Wagers Protesting on Political Directions Will Face Action: Dy CM Surinder Choudhary

Govt Committed to Addressing Genuine Concerns but Warns Against Politically Motivated Agitations

Jammu,(DD) Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary has warned that daily wage workers protesting under the influence of a particular political party will face strict action. He emphasized that while the government is committed to addressing the genuine demands of daily wagers, politically driven protests aimed at destabilizing governance will not be tolerated.

Speaking on the issue, Choudhary stated, “We recognize the hardships faced by daily wage workers and are working on solutions. However, protests orchestrated on political directions to create unrest will face consequences.”

The statement comes amid ongoing demonstrations by daily wagers across various departments, demanding regularization of jobs, pending wages, and improved working conditions. While the government has initiated talks with employee representatives, it has also signaled a tough stance against politically motivated unrest.

Officials have hinted that strict measures, including identifying those inciting such protests for political gains, may be taken if demonstrations continue to disrupt public services.

The government is expected to announce a structured plan for daily wagers in the coming weeks, addressing wage delays and potential policy changes for regularization.(DD)
