Talking to reporters after visiting, famous Ragunath Bazar in Jammu, Dr Farooq said: “May the festival of lights bring peace and harmony to Jammu besides lot of Laxmi (Money). Jammu needs more laxmi as it is suffering,” he said.

To a query about Darbar Move, the NC chief said that it has to happen. “Jammu people need it the most. It will happen,” he said.

It was the LG Manoj Sinha who stopped the age old practice of a bi-annual Darbar Move on the pretext that shifting of files in hundreds of vehicles puts huge load on J&K’s exchequer.

Dr Farooq said that encounters are routine. “Nothing new in encounters, ” he said in reply to a query that J&K is seeing spurt in gunfights. ” They(Pakistan) will keep on sending terrorists and we will keep on on killing them. “

About Ragunath bazar, he said the market was once bustling but it has lost it sheen in absence of Kashmiri people. ” The practice of Darbar Move was stopped by LG in 2022 that affected this market. Let’s get back the statehood, this place will rock again, ” he said.
