Srinagar,(TDD): As the Legislative Assembly met for the fifth day today, the Opposition BJP MLAs continued to stage protests demanding roll back of the resolution seeking restoration of Special Status. Despite repeated requests to call off the protests and take the seats, the BJP MLAs continued to protest, forcing the Speaker Abdur Rahim Rather to direct the Marshalls to take the protesting BJP MLAs out of the House.
“Pakistani agenda nahi challega, Nahi chalega, Jahan Huway Balidan Mukherji, Wo Kashmir Hamara hai, Wo Kashmir Hamara, Sara ka Sara hai, Bharat Mata ki Jai,” the protesting BJP MLAs shouted. Their protest was led by Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma.
The protesting MLAs alleged that the Speaker was biased. “Nothing of BJP should be recorded,” the Speaker directed the Assembly Secretariat. While National Conference MLA Javaid Baig was speaking on the motion of thanks to LG’s address, the BJP MLAs disrupted his speech and continued their protest amid massive slogans.
The Speaker Rather directed the Marshalls to take out the protesting MLAs of Opposition BJP. Almost 12 BJP MLAs were taken out of the House, while the others staged a walkout.
“This is not a fish market. This is Assembly and I will not allow this chaos and ruckus,” Rather said—(TDD)
