Jammu: TDD,Sachin Vaishya-IAS, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu and Joginder Singh-JKPS, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu accompanied by ADDC Jammu and SP Headquarters Jammu, conducted a significant visit to RS Pura subdivision specially the border villages, to address key issues and review development and security measures in the region.
They were warmly received by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) RS Pura, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) RS Pura, and other officers, including the CPDO, RS Pura, Tehsildar RS Pura, and Block Medical Officer (BMO) RS Pura.
During the visit, the identification and Prevention of Land Mafia and Mischief Mongers.
The officials discussed strategies to identify land mafia and mischief mongers in the region. Preventive measures, including detentions under the BNSS Act were emphasized to maintain public order.
Joint Border Visit:
The SSP and DC planned a joint visit to border areas to address long-standing demands of border residents, including the construction of pulleys, culverts, and the broadening of link roads. Special arrangements for passenger vehicles for school-going children were also discussed to facilitate their daily commute.
Interaction with Border Residents:
A meeting was held at Samka village(border village in RS Pura sector) with sarpanches, panches, and prominent citizens to understand and resolve local grievances effectively.
Visit to Border Out Post (BOP) Mangral:
The delegation visited BOP Mangral, where they interacted with the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and reviewed the current security scenario in the region.
Visit to Bal-Ashram & Observation/Juvenile Home R S Pura:
The team inspected the Bal-Ashram at RS Pura, where destitute children are housed in Palash, destitute women in Parisha, and juvenile delinquents in the Juvenile Home. The officials reviewed the facilities and ensured necessary support for the residents. Moreover inspection was also conducted, in the premises of the women helpline and child helpline, which is already functional in the same premises.
Coordination and Preparations for Republic Day:
Emphasis was placed on enhancing coordination between the BSF, police, and civil administration to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning and preparedness for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations on January 26th.
A focus on tackling drug-related issues through awareness and action was reiterated, with a commitment to holding regular NCORD (Narcotics Coordination) meetings to address the menace effectively.
The visit underscored the commitment of the administration to address critical issues, enhance development in the border areas, and maintain peace and security through effective coordination among all stakeholders.TDD
