DC Kathua reviews functioning of Revenue Department

Kathua,TDD, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, today chaired a meeting with Revenue Department officials to review the functioning of the department and address key issues related to online services, digitization and grievance redressal.

The meeting began with a comprehensive review of the online services being provided by the Revenue Department in the district. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining high-quality service delivery and instructed the concerned officials to closely monitor the disposal of online applications to ensure hassle-free services for the public. He stressed that the focus should be on efficiency and promptness in addressing public requests.

During the meeting, Key Issues discussed includes Updation of Web-Based Application for Data Verification. The DC reviewed the progress of the web-based application for verification of scanned and digitized revenue data.

The DC also sought updates on the status of various revenue online services, urging the department to streamline the disposal process and eliminate reasons for reversion of cases.

The DC also enquired about the status of the SWAMITVA Scheme, and urged revenue officials to expedite the mapping process of revenue villages and accelerate the digitization of revenue records within the prescribed timelines.

During the meeting, the status of complaints and grievances filed through the J&K Samadhaan Portal was also reviewed. The DC highlighted the need for faster resolution of grievances and directed that all pending issues be addressed promptly.

The DC also took stock of the status of e-office implementation at various levels of the Revenue Department. He emphasized the need for a fully operational e-office system to improve internal efficiency in the department’s functioning.

During the meeting, the DC expressed his commitment to improving the overall functioning of the Revenue Department and reiterated that the department should be responsive, transparent, and efficient in providing services to the public. He also urged all officials to work towards achieving the set goals and deadlines in a time-bound manner.TDD
