DC Kishtwar Assesses Road Infra in the District

Kishtwar, TDD, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), today conducted an extensive inspection to review and assess the ongoing development works related to drainage system improvement, cleanliness, and encroachment removal along crucial road segments in the adjoining areas of Town along national Highway. The inspection covered the NHIDCL roads from Kuleed to Sangrambhata and the GREF road from Kuleed to Sector 5 besides Lower Kuleed area.

The inspection aims to ensure that the roadways are free from encroachments, clean, and equipped with a proper drainage system to facilitate smooth transportation and public convenience.

Highlighting the importance of these road segments, the DDC emphasized the need for expedited and efficient implementation of improvement works.

During the inspection, the District Development Commissioner directed the concerned agencies and officers to accelerate the pace of work and address all issues in a time-bound manner. He underscored the importance of ensuring that the general public is not inconvenienced during the process. He also stated that maintaining cleanliness and addressing drainage issues is essential for preserving public health and safety, especially during the ongoing development phase.

The DDC instructed the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kishtwar, Sh. Phulail Singh (JKAS), and Tehsildar Kishtwar, Sh. Nirbhay Sharma (JKAS),BDO Sanjeev Kotwal to expedite measures to ensure the timely completion of cleanliness drives, drainage system improvement, and encroachment removal. The officers were asked to coordinate with relevant departments and stakeholders to achieve visible progress within the stipulated timeframe.

Speaking on the occasion, the officer said, “The district administration is committed to ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained infrastructure for the citizens of Kishtwar. Roads are vital lifelines, and we cannot compromise on their upkeep. Strict instructions have been issued to the concerned officers to complete the works without delay and to address any public grievances that may arise during the process.”

The DDC further urged the public to cooperate with the administration in its efforts to remove encroachments and maintain cleanliness. He added that encroachment-free and well-maintained roads not only ensure the smooth flow of traffic but also contribute to the overall development and beautification of the district.TDD
