Kishtwar, DD, As part of ongoing efforts to empower farmers and enhance agricultural mechanization, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), handed over a tractor to a farmer namely Abdul Salam Wani from the far-flung area of Bhatta, Warwan of Sub Division Marwah, under the Farm Mechanization and Automation Scheme of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) for the year 2024-25.
The farmer was provided 50% subsidy, with a maximum limit of ₹5 lakh, to facilitate modern farming practices in remote areas.
During the event, DC Kishtwar interacted with the beneficiary, gathering insights on how the tractor will be utilized to improve agricultural productivity in the region.
It is noteworthy that in the previous month, another tractor was provided to a Farmer from Haynan Marwah under the same scheme.
The Agriculture Department is extending subsidies ranging from 50% to 90% under various HADP initiatives to support farmers across the district.
On the occasion, DC Kishtwar urge upon all farmers of the District to take advantage of the scheme to promote farm mechanization, which will enhance agricultural efficiency, reduce labour efforts, and improve crop production and productivity in an economical and time-effective manner.
