Kishtwar, DD, As part of ongoing efforts to empower farmers and enhance agricultural mechanization, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), handed over tractors to farmers namely Dev Raj S/o Dina Nath (R/O Poochal) and Fareed Ahmed S/o Ab Aziz Sheikh (R/O Marwah) under the Farm Mechanization and Automation Scheme of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) for the year 2024-25.
The farmers were provided a 50% subsidy, with a maximum limit of ₹5 lakh, to facilitate modern farming practices in remote areas.
During the event, DC Kishtwar interacted with the beneficiaries, gathering insights on how the tractors would be utilized to improve agricultural productivity in the region.
It is noteworthy that a few months ago, two tractors were distributed to farmers under the same scheme.
The Agriculture Department is extending subsidies ranging from 50% to 90% under various HADP initiatives to support farmers across the district.
On the occasion, DC Kishtwar urged all farmers of the district to take advantage of the scheme to promote farm mechanization, which will enhance agricultural efficiency, reduce labor efforts, and improve crop production and productivity in an economical and time-effective manner.
