Kishtwar, DD, In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services in the district, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), inaugurated a dedicated Colour Doppler Ultrasound system at the Outpatient Department (OPD) of District Hospital Kishtwar today.
This initiative is part of the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RR) Plan for 2024-25 under the Pakal Dul Hydroelectric Power Project (HEP). The newly installed system, valued at approximately ₹16 lakh, represents a major upgrade in diagnostic services, enabling faster and more accurate imaging for patients.
During the event, the DC also launched the distribution of several essential health equipment items for PHC Chatroo through virtual mode, including a Patient Monitor, Defibrillator, 12-Channel ECG Machine, and other critical devices under the same RR Plan of the Pakal Dul HEP.
DC Kishtwar emphasized the administration’s commitment to improving medical infrastructure and ensuring quality healthcare for the residents of Kishtwar and surrounding areas. He stated, “The installation of the Colour Doppler Ultrasound system will significantly enhance our diagnostic capabilities, allowing us to provide timely and precise care for patients”.
It is noteworthy that the total value of health equipment provided by the KWAR HEP under the RR Plan for 2024-25 stands at ₹30 lakh. This includes ₹8 lakh worth of additional equipment, such as computer systems (₹4 lakh) and furniture (₹4 lakh), with the bidding process for these items already underway.
