DC Kishtwar Leads Awareness Program and Reviews Developmental Progress in Model Panchayat Lachdayaram A

Warns of Strict Action Against Absentee Officers showing deliquency in overseeing Model Panchayats

Kishtwar,TDD,District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Shri Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), visited Model Panchayat Lachdayaram A in Block Kishtwar to presided over an awareness program and review progress on key developmental projects in the panchayat.

Pertinent to mention that these visits by district officers and down the line officials in the 13 designated Model Panchayats of district have been made a regular feature as per the order issued by DC Kishtwar.

The visit aimed to ensure saturation of 78 key indicators in the model panchayats, part of DC Shavan’s initiative to enhance developmental standards across the district.

During the awareness camp at Lachdayaram A , DC Kishtwar emphasized implementing various government schemes, such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G), Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), health initiatives, and social programs aimed at the welfare and progress of local communities.

DC Kishtwar assessed the status of these schemes in the Panchayat and highlighted the importance of extensive greenery through plantation and land identification, stressing environmental conservation.

Later,Mr R K Shavan inspected ongoing development works, instructing timely completion with quality assurance. He interacted with the Village Monitoring Committee, local residents, and ex-PRI members, focusing on saturating all indicators, addressing community concerns, and offering immediate solutions. He also urged the Village Monitoring Committee to actively collaborate with departments to address gaps in Panchayat development.

Special attention was given to cleanliness initiatives, polythene-free campaigns, door-to-door waste collection, and the Nasha Mukht Abhiyan.

DC Shavan emphasized community involvement in fostering a healthy environment and preventing substance abuse.

In response to local health needs, the concerned departments were directed to organize a medical camp to provide free checkups and medications for Panchayat residents.

During the visit, DC Kishtwar identified absentee district officers who have failed to visit their designated panchayats so far, emphasizing that negligence in duties will lead to strict actions. He highlighted the importance of dedicated on-ground involvement by all officials to ensure the effective implementation of developmental programs and address the community’s needs comprehensively.

Among the participants were Mohd Ashraf Wani AD, E&S ;Block Development Officer (BDO) Kishtwar Sanjeev Kotwal (also the Block Nodal Officer for Model Panchayat Lachdayaram A); Panchayat Secretary, Panchayat Nodal officials, and other members from the Rural Development Department.

The visit reflects DC Kishtwar’s commitment to strengthening Panchayats, ensuring effective implementation of welfare schemes, and promoting inclusive growth in the region.TDD
