DC Leh Convenes Meeting to Review Saturation Programs under PMJAY, Aadhaar and Other Schemes

Leh, DD: The Deputy Commissioner Leh , Romil Singh Donk, (IAS) convened a review meeting today at VC Room of DC Office, Leh, to assess the progress of saturation programs under PMJAY, Aadhaar, Ration Cards, and Golden Cards.

During the meeting, DC Leh directed officers to share the issues they are facing in the implementation process and to suggest measures for improvement. Officers highlighted challenges such as: Low numbers of Aadhaar, Ration Card, and Golden Card registrations, Technical issues with portals, Difficulties faced by Army personnel and ex-servicemen in accessing these services.
It was also informed that Aadhaar enrollment is eligible for individuals above 5 years of age, requirement of Aadhaar as a prerequisite for issuance of Ration Cards and Golden Cards which are issued only to residents of Ladakh.

DC Leh instructed the Chief Education Officer Deldan Angmo to collect school-wise data of students from all the schools and their Aadhaar enrollment status. Similarly, Food & Civil Supplies Department was directed to conduct a village-wise survey to identify households with and without ration cards.

DC Leh emphasized that all compiled data must be submitted in the next review meeting, after that campaign will be launched in need-based areas to ensure 100% coverage.

Chief Planning Officer Leh , Tsewang Gyalson suggested that awareness campaigns could also be organized at hospital OPDs, so that both patients and visitors can be sensitized about the benefits of PMJAY Golden Cards.

Reiterating the administration’s commitment, DC Leh stressed the need for coordinated efforts across departments to ensure that the benefits of these welfare schemes reach every eligible resident of Ladakh.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Leh, Chief Planning Officer Leh , Chief Education officers , Chief medical officers and other officers and officials from Food & Civil Supplies, UIDAI, NIC.DD
