DC Rajouri reviews efforts against drug trafficking under Nasha Mukht Abhiyan

RAJOURI, TDD, In a determined effort to combat drug trafficking and implement the Nasha Mukht Abhiyan, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, chaired a crucial meeting of the Narco Coordination Centre Committee in the Conference Hall, DC Office Rajouri.
The meeting focused on multi-faceted strategies to curb the menace of drugs in the district through enhanced surveillance, awareness programs, and enforcement measures.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Drug Inspector to share a tehsil-wise list of all pharmaceutical shops operating within the district. In addition, he was tasked with providing a draft checklist of essential requirements for the opening and operation of pharmaceutical shops, which would be circulated to all Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs). ADCs shall conduct thorough physical verifications of these establishments within their jurisdictions and submit compliance reports.
As part of the district-wide effort, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for random checks at key entry points to Rajouri, ensuring that no illegal substances are smuggled into the district. He also highlighted the importance of extending these checks to remote areas, such as Khawas, to ensure a uniform enforcement of anti-drug policies.
The Programme Officer, ICDS, was instructed to organize comprehensive awareness campaigns in collaboration with Supervisors and Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), with a calendar of training programs to be issued to ensure widespread coverage of the anti-drug message.
The Chief Education Officer was directed to conduct surprise inspections in and around high schools and higher secondary schools, particularly targeting street vendors for possible involvement in drug peddling. Complaint boxes will be installed near educational institutions, and Parent-Teacher Meetings will be organized to engage families in the fight against drug abuse.
Law enforcement agencies, particularly the police, were instructed to intensify their efforts, with a focus on increasing seizures and detentions related to drug trafficking.
The meeting was attended by ADC Rajouri Rajiv Khajuria, Additional SP Bikram Kumar, DPO ICDS, ACD, ACR, SDM, CEO, DSWO, DIO, ARTO, ETO, and representatives from the Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF), Drug De-addiction Centre, and other district officers.TDD
