Proposes Education Center to Preserve Ladakhi Culture, and Language

Leh: DD, Chairman/CEC LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, was called on by a delegation from Drepung Gomang Monastery, led by Tsering Paljor (President, Mazda Union), accompanied by senior secretary Geshe Konchok Gyatso along with Geshe Nawang Jangchup, Geshe Lobzang Chamba, Geshe Sangay Gyatso, and Ven. Nawang Tsundus.
The delegation put forward a proposal to establish an Education Center in Leh with the objective of preserving Ladakhi culture, and language.
They shared that the center will integrate Buddhism and meditation as core principles to help the younger generation reconnect with their roots.
The proposed center aims to promote mental well-being, cultural identity, and a healthy lifestyle among Ladakhi youth.
The initiative is also expected to address pressing issues such as substance abuse, alcoholism, and suicide by offering constructive alternatives rooted in traditional wisdom and spiritual guidance.
CEC appreciated the vision behind the proposal and assured the delegation of full support from the Council, reaffirming LAHDC Leh’s commitment to preserving Ladakh’s cultural heritage and guiding its youth towards a healthier and brighter future.DD
