Kathua, (DD)Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Nalin Prabhat (IPS), conducted an on-ground review of the security and administrative arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2025 at the Reception Centre, Lakhanpur — the gateway to the Union Territory.
Accompanied by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Shri Bhimsen Tutti (IPS), DIG JKS Range Shri Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS), DIG CRPF Shri Avadhesh Pathak (IPS), and other senior officials, the DGP assessed the preparedness of various stakeholders responsible for ensuring a smooth and secure pilgrimage.
During his visit, the DGP held a detailed interaction with nodal officers from multiple security forces and civil departments. Among those present were Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Shri Rakesh Minhas (IAS); SSP Kathua, Shri Shobhit Saksena (IPS); Commandant IR-19, Shri Atul Kumar; Principal PTS Kathua, Smt. Manjit Kaur; and senior representatives from the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The DGP reviewed the deployment plans, coordination mechanisms, and facilitation measures in place for Yatris arriving at Lakhanpur. He stressed upon seamless coordination among all agencies, proactive grievance redressal mechanisms, and special focus on crowd management and emergency response preparedness.
The visit underscores the UT administration’s commitment to ensuring a safe, smooth, and spiritually enriching Yatra experience for lakhs of pilgrims expected to visit the holy cave shrine this season(DD)
