Jammu, (DD: Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat has announced a major manpower optimisation initiative, revealing that he has reduced his own security detail by two-thirds to set an example of efficient resource utilisation within the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Speaking at Thana Diwas in Jammu, DGP Prabhat stressed the importance of better resource allocation, police incentivisation, and technological advancements to enhance law enforcement across the region.

“Charity begins at home, so I have started by reallocating resources from myself. I have relieved two-thirds of my security personnel,” he stated, underlining his commitment to optimising manpower usage.

Emphasising the performance-based rewards system within the force, he reiterated, “Whoever does good work will get a good posting. Do something significant for the country, and within a minute, you will be placed where you deserve.”

Fight Against Drugs a Top Priority

DGP Prabhat also drew a parallel between the fight against narcotics and the battle against terrorism, stating that both pose equal threats to Jammu and Kashmir.

“Drugs are being smuggled through the western borders, with the entire narcotics trade controlled by Pakistan’s Army and ISI through various outfits and smugglers. This is a serious challenge, and J&K Police will continue fighting until we win this war,” he said.

Expressing concern over schoolchildren being lured into the drug trade, he urged parents to closely monitor their children’s activities to prevent them from falling prey to addiction or illegal networks.

The DGP’s remarks highlight the J&K Police’s firm stance on both terrorism and drug trafficking, reinforcing the force’s commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.(DD)
