Jammu:TDD, The District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu, led by President S. Ranjeet Singh Tohra, along with S Balvinder Singh Vice President, S Surjeet Singh Gen Secretary, S Jagpal Singh Trasurer, S Harjit Singh, S Tejinder Singh, S Avtar Singh, S Karan Singh Bali, S Balvinder Singh members DGPC Jammu met with the newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, extending heartfelt congratulations on his recent election victory and appointment as Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
This formal meeting not only celebrated this political achievement but also marked a significant step forward in fostering dialogue on critical issues impacting the Sikh community.
During the discussion, DGPC representatives presented a broad spectrum of key concerns central to the Sikh community’s cultural, religious, and socio-economic welfare. Choudhary listened intently, acknowledging the importance of these matters and pledging prompt attention and action.
He further committed to facilitating additional discussions, including consultations with the Chief Minister, to collaboratively pursue sustainable and effective solutions that address the highlighted issues.
In a display of solidarity and respect, the DGPC extended a formal invitation to the Deputy Chief Minister to attend the upcoming Parkash Purab celebration of Guru Nanak Dev Ji on 15th November 2024 at Gurudwara Yaadgar Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, Jammu. This revered occasion, honoring Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings and enduring legacy, would be greatly enriched by the presence of distinguished leaders.
The Deputy Chief Minister shared that under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the current administration is committed to engaging with formally recognized and elected Sikh bodies, reinforcing a dedication to democratic representation and inclusive governance.
