DIG JSK Range reviews security arrangements in Jammu, Samba, Kathua ahead of Republic Day

Jammu,(DD) Ahead of Republic Day celebrations, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) JSK Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, conducted an extensive review of security arrangements in Jammu, Samba, and Kathua districts.

The review included inspections at key venues such as MAM Stadium in Jammu, Sports Stadium in Samba, and Sports Stadium in Kathua.

The DIG also assessed security in sensitive areas, including Bathindi, Sainik Colony, Parmandal Morh, Bari Brahmna, Vijaypur, Samba Railway Station, and other crucial points along the Jammu-Kathua National Highway. Strategic locations like Naka Lodi Morh, Dayala Chack, Rajbagh, and Basholi were also inspected to ensure comprehensive preparedness.

During the inspection, DIG Sharma directed all officers to maintain active surveillance over Over Ground Workers (OGWs), history-sheeters, and other potential troublemakers. He stressed the need for area domination starting early morning to prevent any untoward incidents during the celebrations.

Further, officers from the Police Component were instructed to activate Special Operations Group (SOG) Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) to address any counter-insurgency or security exigencies.

The DIG emphasized coordinated efforts among security personnel to ensure a peaceful and secure Republic Day 2025. Local residents have been urged to cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious activities to the authorities(DD)
