Director, PMO Sweta Singh chaired a Review meeting of Vibrant Village Programme Implementation in Leh District

Leh: DD, As part of the ongoing efforts to evaluate and accelerate the implementation of the Vibrant Village Programme in the Union Territory of Ladakh, Sweta Singh (IFS), Director, Prime Minister’s Office chaired a high-level review meeting today at the Conference Hall, DC Office Leh.

On her arrival, Deputy Commissioner Leh Romil Singh Donk (IAS) warmly welcomed Singh and extended gratitude on behalf of all departments for her visit and for chairing the crucial meeting.
The meeting witnessed Senior Superintendent Police Leh Shruti Arora (IPS), Additional District Development Commissioner Sonam Nurboo (JKAS), Chief Planning Officer Tsewang Gyalson, Head of Departments and other officials of Leh District.

CPO Leh presented a detailed overview of the progress under the Vibrant Village Programme, highlighting the achievements and benefits seen across border villages post implementation of the programme.

The presentation follow-up with Planning, Roadmap, Thematic area (eco-system regeneration, livelihood generation, skill development, tourism infrastructure, off grid electricity, road commutativity), details of projects submitted, Status of project submitted, details approved schemes under VVP, List of approved projects among others.

He also informed about digital portal where departmental officers upload real-time updates on infrastructure works, saturation of schemes, status of activities in the villages, status of new proposals, reply status as queries and status of approved projects.

Addressing the meeting, Sweta Singh stated that her visit to Ladakh aimed to personally review the progress of VVP and gather on-ground feedback for submission to the Prime Minister Office of India.

Singh engaged with the attending officers, asking them to share their experiences, benefits, and visible changes resulting from Vibrant Village Programme.

She encouraged open dialogue to understand the real impacts on ground and identify any challenges. In response, officers shared their insights on the positive outcomes observed so far, including improved connectivity, infrastructure development, and enhanced service delivery in remote areas.

They also discussed existing gaps and proposed solutions for better implementation.

The meeting concluded with DC Leh extending heartfelt thanks to Sweta Singh on behalf of all departments for her valuable time, guidance, and commitment to strengthening the development of Ladakh’s border villages,DD
