‘Issues circular, asks Pvt, Govt Schools to follow order in spirit in view of rising accidents’

Srinagar, TDD,In a significant development, the Directorate of School Education (DSE) Kashmir today announced the ban on vehicles being driven by the minors including school going children in view of rise in road accidents.
The DSEK issued a circular to all schools including private institutions to ensure ban is implemented in full.
“In view of the recent rise in road accidents and loss precious young lives in Srinagar and elsewhere in Kashmir, no school should allow the entry of students riding two-wheelers and four wheelers driven by minor students,” the circular reads.
Parents have hailed the move stating that the step will bring down number of accidents. Many students were seen doing stunts while many others were caught on CCTV cameras runing vehicles at over 110 speed.
DSEK circular comes at a time when traffic police has upped it’s ante against minor drivers. The Diplomat yesterday reported that over 1500 vehicles especially two wheelers driven by minors were seized in just three days(TDD)
