Ramban, DD, The District Administration Ramban, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Alyas Khan, today launched Sewa Parv across the district. The initiative is part of a nationwide programme to celebrate the spirit of ‘Sewa’ (service) as the highest form of patriotism, contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat. Anchored in the Ministry of Culture’s guiding theme “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi” (Development as well as Heritage), Sewa Parv seeks to blend cultural pride with a deep sense of social responsibility.
On the occasion, various departments organized a series of activities across the district. ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak, Chief Planning Officer Dr. Shakeeb Ahmad Rather, Chief Education Officer Mohammad Sultan Khan, ALC Amit Kumar and other officers were present at the inaugural event.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said Sewa Parv provides a platform where service to the nation finds expression through culture, art, heritage, knowledge-sharing and inclusive community engagement. He added that the initiative covers diverse areas such as cultural heritage, women-led progress, general health and well-being, environmental stewardship, innovation and empowerment of marginalized communities.
Addressing a teachers’ conference organized as part of Sewa Parv, the DC described teachers as “nation builders” and appreciated their student-centric approach, professionalism and dedication in providing quality education. He also stressed the importance of women’s education, improving the district’s literacy rate and ensuring effective implementation of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme.
On the occasion, the DC released education assistance over worth ₹33.11 lakh to 829 wards of Labour Card Holders under JKBOCWWB welfare schemes. CPO Ramban, ALC and other officers sensitized participants about Sewa Parv and youth-oriented schemes.
Earlier, the CPO, ALC and various other officers sensitized the participants about the Sewa Parv and various beneficiaries and youth oriented schemes of their departments.
Highlighting the efforts made by the various departments and banks for saturation in financial inclusion, the LDM also sensitized youth about the various loan and financial assistance schemes.
Students presented local art and cultural performances reflecting the district’s rich heritage. Later, the DC felicitated outstanding teachers and honoured the Teachers’ Associations of Ramban.DD
