Udhampur :TDD, District Congress monthly meeting resumed after more than a decade under the leadership of District Congress workingb President Sumit Magotra, with District President Vinod Khajuria as the main attendee. The meeting, which saw participation from representatives of all blocks, was conducted by Congress leader and former Sarpanch Rampal Bhagat.
The issues concerning the people and former Sarpanchs and residents from other panchayats were also raised during the meeting. Issues related to power supply, availability of water, incorrect preparation of DPRs of road construction, and complaints regarding deprived families not yet getting BPL ration cards.
Magotra announced that monthly meetings would be held regularly on the 7th of each month, stressing that these gatherings would focus on solving people’s problems rather than featuring speeches from leaders. He promised to work with the relevant departments and administration to resolve the issues raised during these meetings.
Addressing complaints about certain department officials ignoring public grievances, Magotra warned that demonstrations would be organized against offices and officials who discriminate based on political affiliations. He emphasized that officials should serve all citizens equally, regardless of their political leanings.
Immediately after the meeting, Magotra sent letters to different departments to address those issues. During the meeting, block presidents as well as various Sarpanchs from different regions were present in a renewed approach to strengthen grass-root governance.TDD
