District-Level Event Marks 71st All India Cooperative Week at CMS Kishtwar

Kishtwar,TDD,A district-level event was organized at Cooperative Marketing Society (CMS) Kishtwar to celebrate the 71st All India Cooperative Week under the theme “Role of Cooperatives in Building Viksit Bharat.”

The event, held at CMS Kishtwar, was graced by Sh. Idrees Lone, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, JKAS, who presided over the proceedings as the chief guest.

The event commenced with a visit by the chief guest to various stalls set up by CMS, PACS, and FPOs.

These stalls showcased a diverse array of local and niche products, highlighting the strength and potential of the cooperative sector in the region.

In his welcome address,Sh. Sanjay Singh, Assistant Registrar, emphasized the pivotal role of cooperatives in nation-building and elaborated on the central theme of this year’s All India Cooperative Week.

Following this, Sh. Amit Sharma, Assistant Registrar, presented a detailed overview of the Cooperative Department’s activities in Kishtwar.

He highlighted several key achievements and introduced the new initiatives launched by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India.

A series of informative presentations were addressed by Dr. Shimona Parihar, VAS, Department of Animal Husbandry, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, JKEDI and Sh. Jatinder Singh, SMS, D/o Agriculture, shedding light on various schemes run by their respective departments.

Sh. Altaf Hussain Shah, Chairman of CMS Kishtwar, and Sh. Sajjad Ahmed Khan, Chairman of FPO, also spoke about the significant potential and opportunities the cooperative movement offers in the district, urging the public to explore the vast possibilities within the sector.

Addressing the gathering, Sh. Idrees Lone, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Kishtwar, highlighted the importance of identifying niche areas for cooperative ventures. He emphasized the need for cooperatives to create strong market linkages that align with consumer demand, which would further enhance the sustainability and growth of the sector.

The event concluded with registration and appreciation certificates presented by the Chief guest to newly registered Cooperatives and successful Cooperative Societies respectively.

The event was further graced by the presence of Sh. Badri Nath, Branch Manager of SCARDB Kishtwar, and Sh. Neeraj Sharma, Branch Manager of JCC Bank Kishtwar, who also contributed their insights.

The event was anchored by Sh. Qazi Akhter Hussain, Inspector, received valuable support from the staff of the Cooperative Department, Kishtwar.
