Ramban :DD, Government of Jammu and Kashmir has suspended J.S. Kapoor, District Mineral Officer (Driller), Ramban, with immediate effect, until further orders, pending an inquiry into his actions.
The suspension, issued under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, mandates Kapoor to continue to be attached to the Directorate of Geology and Mining in Jammu during the period of suspension.
At the same time, Mohammad Imtiaz, District Mineral Officer, Reasi, holding additional charge of District Mineral Office, Udhampur, shall also hold the charge of District Mineral Office, Ramban, in addition to his own duties, till further orders.
A committee to enquire into the allegations levelled against Kapoor has also been formed by the government, and the Director of Archives, Archaeology and Museums has been asked to recommend a panel of officers for this purpose.
The order, given by the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, was conveyed to several officials such as the Joint Secretary (JKL), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and the respective Deputy Commissioners of Reasi and Udhampur, among others.DD
