District Police Kargil Organizes Essay/Drawing Competition on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

Kargil, DD, On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, District Police Kargil (Ladakh) organized an Essay and Drawing Competition at District Police Lines Kargil to raise awareness among the youth about the dangers of drug abuse and the need to eliminate it from society.

The event was organised under the overall direction of SSP Kargil Shree Raam IPS and it was graced by Additional Superintendent of Police Kargil, Shri Nitin Yadav, IPS, as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present included Sh. Mohd Ali, DySP ADO, Inspector Abdullah (I/c Narcotics DPO Kargil), Inspector Tsewang Nurboo (I/c GB DPO Kargil), and SI Feroze Ahmad (Narcotics Unit, DPO Kargil).

More than 60 students from various Government and Private schools of Kargil participated in the competition, showcasing their thoughts through impactful essays and powerful artwork.

Addl. SP Nitin Yadav, IPS appreciated the students for their creative contributions and motivated them to act as ambassadors of awareness in their communities. He emphasized the critical role of youth in eradicating drug abuse from the district and beyond.

On this occasion, all participants, officials, and attendees also took a solemn pledge to work collectively towards eliminating drug abuse from society and to spread awareness about its harmful consequences.

The program was moderated by Inspector Abdullah, who also welcomed the Chief Guest and participants.

Ms. Zahida Batool and Ms. Nasra from Team Stringmo served as jury members, ensuring fair judgment of the entries and encouraging young talent.

The event concluded with a strong message of commitment, unity, and proactive action to build a drug-free and healthy Ladakh.DD
