Mendhar, DD, In its continuous efforts to combat the drug menace, District Police Poonch today organised a Mega Cultural Show at Higher Secondary School, Mendhar.
The event featured a short play on drug abuse along with musical performances highlighting the dangers of drug addiction, aimed at sensitising students and the local community.
A large number of students and residents of Mendhar attended the programme and appreciated the police department’s sustained efforts to protect youth from falling prey to substance abuse.
The programme was organised and supervised under the direct supervision of SSP Poonch, Shafket Hussain JKPS, who has been leading various awareness initiatives across the district.
SDPO Mendhar DySP Sh.Toseef Ahmed JKPS coordinated the event on ground.
The artists of Saraswati Sangeet Kala Kendra, Poonch, led by Pardeep Khanna, delivered an impactful cultural performance that was widely appreciated by the audience.
While presiding over the event, SSP Poonch Shafkat Hussain JKPS addressed the gathering and urged students to stay vigilant against the nefarious designs of anti-social elements involved in drug trafficking.
He encouraged students and the public to immediately inform police or school authorities about any suspicious activities or persons connected with drug trade.
Principal Sayeed Saleem Shah expressed gratitude to District Police Poonch for organising the awareness programme at HSS Mendhar and praised the efforts to engage students through a creative and meaningful approach.
