Udhampur,TDD, September 16, 2024: In a significant step towards combating the drug menace, the District Police Udhampur has arrested a drug peddler and recovered a substantial quantity of heroin from his possession.
According to a press release, Police team from Police Station Udhampur led by SHO PS Udhampur while performing routine naka checking at naka point Jakhani stopped one vehicle (bolero) bearing registration number JK17A- 4516 for checking purpose.
On frisking of driver of the vehicle, approx. 6.97 grams of heroin (chitta) like Contraband substance was recovered from the possession of the driver namely Sameer Ahmed S/O Haqnawaz Malik R/O Kishtwar who has been arrested on spot and a case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against him. The police is currently investigating the matter to identify other individuals involved in the drug trade.TDD
