Kishtwar,DD, As part of the Public Outreach Programme aimed at enhancing citizen services, the Regional Passport Office (RPO) Jammu, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, today launched a three-day Mobile Passport Van Service Camp in collaboration with the District Administration Kishtwar at the DC Office Complex, Kishtwar.
The camp was organized under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pawan Kotwal formally inaugurated the camp in the presence of Sunil K. Khar, Section Officer, MEA, GoI, and other officers.
Interacting with the media on the occasion, the ADC and the Section Officer from RPO Jammu informed that residents of Kishtwar District availed themselves of the facility by booking appointments through the official website — www.passportindia.gov.in
. They added that applicants had already selected their slots for the Passport Van Service, which will remain stationed at the DC Office Complex Kishtwar from December 09 to December 11, 2025.
The DC Kishtwar, on behalf of the District Administration, appreciated the initiative of RPO Jammu, led by Rajesh Kumar and his team, for extending this service to the residents of Kishtwar. He urged the people of Kishtwar District to make full use of the camp and stated that such initiatives bring government services closer to the people, particularly those living in hilly and far-flung areas.
The ADC Kishtwar, also expressed gratitude to the Regional Passport Office Jammu and the Ministry of External Affairs for organizing the Mobile Passport Van Service Camp in Kishtwar and appreciated their efforts in promoting citizen-friendly governance and doorstep service delivery.
According to the Section Officer, RPO Jammu, similar camps will be organized in other districts of Jammu Province in the coming months to extend passport-related services to citizens residing in remote and far-off areas.
The Mobile Passport Van is fully equipped for biometric enrolment and on-site document verification, ensuring convenience and efficiency for applicants.
This citizen-centric initiative is expected to significantly improve accessibility, save time, and streamline passport services for residents of remote regions.
