Kathua: Police today claimed to have arrested and alleged drug peddler with pistol rounds.
As per the police, Kathua Police under overall supervision of SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma, IPS has arrested one hardcore drug peddler namely Siraj Din alias Saraju, son of Ali Hussain, resident of Bishnah, Jammu.
This arrest comes in under investigation Pakistan based drone dropping module case FIR No 107/25 u/s 8, 17, 18, 21, 22 , 27 A , 29 NDPS Act and 13 UAPA of Police Station Hiranagar, Kathua.
It is informed that a case was registered in police station Hiranagar, after drone dropped narcotics weighing more than 400 gram were recovered in border village Chhan Tanda, Hiranagar.
On this recovery, a detailed investigation led by SP (Operations) Kathua Mukund Tibrewal, IPS and his team, SDPO Border, Dheeraj Katoch and SHO Hiranagar Ashish was conducted.
In investigation, drug smuggling syndicate were unearthed and 4 accused from J&K and Punjab were arrested.
These accused worked as couriers, drug traffickers and drug financiers in the module. On their disclosure, more than 5 lakh drug money and an additional 414 gm heroin was recovered.
On further investigation in forward linkage in the case, Siraj Din has now been arrested.
He was chief recipient of drone dropped heroin and was involved in street level peddling.
On his disclosure about 25 gm heroin like substance, one sharp edged weapon (Toka) and 3 pistol rounds have been recovered.
His arrests marks 5th arrest in the case. Further raids on the basis of his disclosure are underway. Additionally, efforts are being put to arrests more such drug peddler who are involved as forward linkage, such that all people involved in this chain of drug smuggling from drone dropping to drug consumer are brought to justice.DD
