POONCH, JAMMU: DD,The Line of Control (LoC) has witnessed a continuous violation of ceasefire with unprovoked firing from Pakistan Army from Kashmir to Jammu’s Akhnoor.
“During the night of 04 -05 May 2025, Pakistan Army posts resorted to unprovoked small arms fire across the LoC in areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajauri, Mendhar, Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor in J&K,” the defence spokesperson said.
He stated that the Indian Army responded promptly and proportionately.
It may be remembered here that before the heinous terror attack on the civilian people at the Pahalgam tourist spot in Kashmir, the Indian Army and the other security forces were already on alert after the terror movement was intercepted in Kathua.
The security forces had also neutralized three terrorists, following a gunfight, who had crossed over from Pakistan. Accordingly, the security grid was tightened across the border, and hilly region of Jammu province.DD
