Udhampur :-TDD,The festival of Dussehra, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, was celebrated with immense fervor and enthusiasm across Jammu and Kashmir. Thousands thronged the streets and grounds to witness the burning of effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnad, marking the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king.
In the summer capital, Srinagar, the Kashmiri Pandit Sangarsh Samiti organized a grand celebration at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium. Notably, National Conference President and former Chief Minister of J&K Dr. Farooq Abdullah graced the occasion, underlining the festival’s significance as a symbol of unity and harmony.
The festival, which transcends religious boundaries, promotes brotherhood and camaraderie.
In Rajouri district, towns like Nowshera, Sundarbani, and Rajouri witnessed large gatherings as people came together to celebrate the victory of righteousness. The Rajouri Dussehra ground was the epicenter of festivities, with towering effigies of the demons being set ablaze. The Sanatan Dharma Sabha, Rajouri, organized the event, which saw a massive turnout.
Udhampur also joined in the celebrations, with people from all walks of life coming together to mark the auspicious occasion. The district administration ensured elaborate arrangements, including deployment of security personnel to maintain law and order.
The festive spirit was palpable across the region as people rejoiced and prayed for peace and prosperity. The celebration of Dussehra in Jammu and Kashmir serves as a testament to the resilience of the people and their unwavering faith in the triumph of good over evil.TDD
