Udhampur,(DD): Eight pilgrims returning from the Amarnath Yatra were injured today morning when their vehicle was hit by a truck near the Battal Ballian area of Udhampur district.
Officials said the mishap occurred when a truck (registration number PB65AV-9318) collided with an Innova (UP81BN-3701) carrying the pilgrims from the Pahalgam route.
Three of the occupants sustained minor injuries and were given on-spot medical aid, while five others with more serious injuries were shifted to the Government Medical College (GMC) Associated Hospital in Udhampur for specialised treatment.
Police have registered a case and initiated further investigation into the incident(DD)
