Elocution on “Good Manners: A Prerequisite for Personality development” held at GCW Udhampur

UDHAMPUR :-TDD,The Department of English, Government college for Women (GCW)Udhampur successfully organised an elocution contest on “Good Manners: A Prerequisite For Personality Development”
in collaboration with the Literary Club and IQAC under the patronage of principal Prof. Dr. Nalini Pathania.

The event was organized by the faculty members of the Department of english, Dr. Geetanjli Rajput (Head), Dr. Shivani Suri Varma, Dr.Kamal Deep Kaur, Prof. Simran Khajuria, Dr. Fayaz, Dr. Shmoon Arfan,Dr. Shamsul Haq to engage in thought-provoking discussions on the
significance and relevance in shaping the character and the overall development of personality.

The event was a huge success, with over 19 participants and around 100 listeners who attended the event. The faculty of Department of English put in immense efforts to make the event a success and their hard work paid off. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their knowledge, critical thinking, and communication skills.

The elocution contest emphasized on the importance of values such as respect, empathy, and kindness in today’s fast-paced world. The
speakers highlighted how good manners can help students build strong relationships, achieve academic success, and become responsible
citizens. The event also provided an opportunity for students to engage in meaningful discussions on the importance of good manners and how these can be practised in everyday life. The competition was adjudged by Prof. Swarna Bhougal, Head, Dept of Political Science and Dr. Geetanjli Rajput, Head, Department of English and convener, Literary Committee addressed the students and appraised them Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed, Head, Dept of Hindi. The first position was bagged by Tanushi, the second position was secured by Janvi Bakshi and Diksha Sharma got the 3rd position.
