Leh,DD: On April 26, 2025, representatives from Diskit Rangrok Tsogspa, a women-led pottery-making Self Help Group (SHG) from Likir Village, along with the District Program Manager of Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission (LRLM), met with District Magistrate Shri Santosh Sukhadeve, IAS, in Leh.The SHG presented key proposals aimed at revitalizing traditional pottery practices, including the need for modern equipment, better market access, and support under various government schemes. They also requested infrastructure support such as the construction of an Aluminum Hall for pottery-related activities.The Deputy Commissioner, Leh patiently reviewed all concerns and assured the group of full administrative support. Immediate steps included providing modern pottery tools and initiating infrastructure development.The meeting concluded on a positive and hopeful note, with the SHG members expressing deep gratitude. This engagement marks a meaningful step toward preserving Ladakh’s rich pottery heritage while empowering rural women artisans. DD
