Udhampur,DD: A soldier reportedly injured in a brief exchange of fire between the security forces, and the terrorists in the dense forests of Dudu- Basantgarh in Udhampur District.
The initial reports, as per the sources, claim that the security forces launched a massive search operation on April 23, following credible inputs about the movement of the heavily armed terrorists.
The sources said that the security forces immediately launched a joint search operation, including Indian Army, SOG and local police force.
During the search operation, the sources said that a contact with the terrorists was established today and a brief exchange of fire took place between the security forces, and terrorists.
In the exchange of fire, the sources said, one soldier sustained injuries, and he was evacuated from the encounter site and shifted to the hospital. His condition is stated to be stable.
Meanwhile, the anti-terror operation intensified with the deployment of additional force as the entire area was put under strict cordon. Till the filing of the report, the operation continued.DD
