Kishtwar:DD, An encounter broke out between the security forces and a group of terrorists in the dense forests of Chatroo in Kishtwar, during early morning hours.
As per the initial reports, the security forces, including Indian Army, Special Operation Group (SOG) of J&K Police and paramilitary personnel laid a cordon in the forest area, following credible intelligence inputs.
During the combing operation, the reports emerging from the site claim that heavy exchange of fire took place.
The security forces personnel were searching for the hiding terrorists when they came under fire. Instantly, the security forces also opened fire, leading to gunbattle.
Till the filing of this report, the firing continued and additional troops have been rushed to the area.DD
