Encounter resumes in upper reaches of Kishtwar forests

Kishtwar, TDD: The firing between a group of terrorists and security forces, including police and army, has resumed in Kishtwar. “In continuation of the earlier joint search operation launched by security forces near the Danna Dhar forests in the upper reaches of Chatroo area (J/D of Police Station Chatroo) district Kishtwar, firing has resumed as contact has been established, ” reads a statement issued by the Kishtwar police on x. It said that the fire exchanged from both sides has resumed. The sources said that the Army has also deployed Special Forces to neutralise the terrorists hiding in the dense forest area. On September 21,2024, the exchange of fire had taken place between search teams of security forces and hiding terrorists near Danna Dhar forest area, upper reaches of Gurinal village under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chhatroo, District Kishtwar. Later, a search operation continued in the area and the contact with the terrorits was established today. More details are awaited. TDD
