KATHUA: DD, An encounter has reportedly started between the security forces and the terrorists in Kathua.
Although it is not confirmed that it is the same group of terrorists that had escaped from Sanyal village near the International Border in Kathua District.
As the security forces were on high alert across Kathua and other areas, the security forces intercepted a group of terrorists near the Ghati area in Kathua District.
“Today, the security forces established contact with the group of terrorists near Ghati – Safrain area in Kathua,” as per the sources.
They said that a heavy exchange of fire has been reported between the terrorists, and the security forces. Further details are awaited.
Pertinently, the security forces had continued their joint search operation for the last several days in Kathua’s border villages after the escape of the terrorists from Sanyal village where they had kidnapped a couple.
Fortunately, the couple escaped and alerted the security forces about the presence of the terrorists in their village. Immediately, a massive cordon and search operation was launched in which grenades, loaded M4 magazines, and other material was recovered from the site.DD
