Jammu, DD, Local entrepreneur Sanjay Chopra from Gangyal has successfully expanded his business with support from the Government of India’s Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), availing a subsidy under the Horticulture Planning and Marketing scheme for purchasing a refrigerated van (reefer van).

The total cost of the reefer van was ₹38 lakh, out of which Sanjay Chopra received ₹18.75 lakh as government subsidy. Speaking to the media, Sanjay Chopra shared that the reefer van has significantly benefitted his business. “The subsidy of ₹18.75 lakh has been a huge support. I urge young entrepreneurs to take advantage of this scheme. The department is actively reaching out to people, encouraging them to apply and benefit,” he said.

Area Marketing Officer of Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Sanjay Singral, also provided insights into the scheme, highlighting how it is helping strengthen the horticulture value chain by supporting farmers and entrepreneurs with logistics and market access.
