‘Let people give me 40 seats, will do something unimaginable in Delhi’
Srinagar,TDD, Sep 12: Doling out his plan for being out on bail till October 2, the North Kashmir Member Parliament, Er Rashid today said that if people would choose 40 legislators from his party, he will stage a sit-in outside Prime Minister Narendera Modi’s house in New Delhi and do something “unimaginable for Kashmiris.”
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Er Rashid who was granted bail till October 2 by the Delhi court, said: “This may sound strange but this is my plan. If people of Kashmir give mandate to my party and if I get 40 seats, I will stage a sit in outside Prime Minister Narendera Modi’s house in Delhi and do something unimaginable for the people of Kashmir.”
Replying to a query whether he intends to support INDIA alliance, he said if the alliance gives him assurance about introducing a resolution in Parliament seeking restoration of Article 370 in J&K, he will surely support them. “Can INDIA alliance to this, if yes, I will definitely extend my support to it,” he said.
Lashing out at National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah, Er Rashid said that why NC failed to do what it has promised in its manifesto now when they were in power for decades. Er Rashid also took a dig at PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti by stating that it was the then PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed who said that vote to PDP was must to stop BJP’s entry into J&K. “Same PDP provided a launching pad to BJP who bulldozed our dreams,” he said.
Asked he was branded as a separatist, Er Rashid said: “If speaking truth means one is a separatist, then he is so,” he said, adding that his fight was against Prime Minister Narendera Modi’s Naya Kashmir narrative. “Modi has got the reply on June 4 when North Kashmir people voted en-mass against him.TDD
