Srinagar, (DD): The health condition of Er Rashid continues to deteriorate as his hunger strike enters its 10th consecutive day at RML Hospital. Expressing deep concern, Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi urged authorities to uphold justice and ensure Rashid’s fundamental rights.
Meanwhile, a high-level AIP delegation, led by Vice President G.N. Shaheen and comprising Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat, Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, Gazanfar Ali Mir, and Aijaz Yousuf, convened in Jammu with political activists, social workers, and party members. The meeting focused on strengthening AIP’s organizational base in the Jammu division and expanding its reach ahead of the upcoming ULB and Municipal elections.
Demonstrating solidarity with Er Rashid, the participants condemned the prolonged detention of an elected Member of Parliament, calling it a violation of democratic principles. They reaffirmed their trust in the judiciary while urging authorities to ensure a fair and just resolution.
As part of its expansion strategy, AIP appointed Amarjeet Singh as District President of Jammu and Anil Kumar as District Secretary. Additionally, Sardar Harnans Singh and Sardar Narinder Singh were nominated as Senior District Advisors. The newly appointed office bearers pledged to lead the party’s outreach efforts in the region.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous demand for Er Rashid’s release, emphasizing the need to protect democratic values and individual freedoms.(DD)
