Bhadarwah, TDD, Following the conclusion of the first phase of polling yesterday, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) have been safely transferred to high-security strong rooms in Doda district.
The fate of candidates contesting for three assembly seats in Doda is now sealed within these strong rooms, which will remain closed until the counting day on October 8. Returning Officer (RO) for Bhadarwah, Sunil Kumar, reported that EVMs from all 196 polling stations of the 51-Bhadarwah Assembly constituency were successfully transported to the RO’s office by 4 AM today, before being moved to the Doda strong room under tight security.
Authorities have implemented a three-tier security system, including round-the-clock surveillance and CCTV monitoring, to ensure the integrity of the stored voting equipment. GPS tracking systems were also utilized during the transfer process. The strong rooms will be opened on the morning of October 8 in the presence of counting authorities to determine the election results.TDD
