Fateh Cup Kargil 2025 Concludes with Grand Tribute to the Martyrs of 1948 and 1999

Kargil:DD, The first edition of the Fateh Cup Kargil 2025, organized as a tribute to the martyrs of 1948 and 1999, concluded at the Austro Turf Kargil with remarkable enthusiasm and participation. A total of eight football clubs showcased their skill, discipline, and team spirit throughout the tournament.

The final match was contested between Sheen Football Club Saliskot and RLC Baroo, where RLC Baroo clinched an emphatic victory with a 6–1 scoreline, lifting the maiden Fateh Cup title.

Tahir Hussain Zabdavi (JKAS), Joint Director YSS Ladakh, graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized that the tournament is a significant initiative towards encouraging youth engagement in sports and providing them platforms to exhibit their talent at district, UT, and national levels.

The tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (YSS), UT Ladakh, in collaboration with the Football Association Kargil and the Indian Army, as part of the preparations for the upcoming Kargil Yom-e-Fateh commemorations.

Mr. Zabdavi extended heartfelt thanks to the YSS organizing teams for ensuring a spectacular and well-coordinated conclusion to the inaugural edition of the Fateh Cup Kargil. He added that, going forward, the tournament will be expanded into a mega annual event and integrated into the official UT calendar of activities.

He further informed that the department is planning to conduct a selection trial for the Santosh Trophy, and widespread publicity is being undertaken to encourage maximum participation from talented footballers across the region.

The Fateh Cup Kargil 2025 successfully highlighted the sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and dedication of Kargil’s youth, while honoring the unmatched valor of the nation’s martyrs.DD
