Srinagar, (DD): A fire broke out early morning today at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters in the Polo View area of Srinagar, leaving part of the premises damaged and a firefighter injured during the containment efforts.
According to officials, the blaze damaged several temporary structures within the party compound before emergency teams managed to douse the flames. One firefighter, identified as Bashir Ahmed, was injured while attempting to bring the fire under control.
He was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention, and his condition is said to be stable.
Authorities have launched an inquiry to ascertain the cause of the fire. No other injuries or casualties were reported.(DD)
