Firing at Keediyan-Gandyal Police Post; Three Miscreants Arrested in Injured Condition

Kathua: DD, Panic gripped the Keediyan-Gandyal police post when three miscreants opened fire at a police team and attempted to flee from the spot.

According to reports, a police team had set up a checkpoint at the Keediyan-Gandyal post.

During the checking, three youths on a motorcycle passed through the area.
When the police signaled them to stop for checking, they suddenly opened fire on the police team and tried to escape.

The police immediately chased them, and during the pursuit, the motorcycle of the miscreants met with an accident near the Keediyan-Gandyal bridge.
All three suspects sustained serious injuries in the crash and were rushed to GMC Kathua for treatment, where they are currently undergoing medical care.

Sources said the police recovered a pistol and several live cartridges from the spot.
However, no official statement has yet been issued by the police regarding the incident.

Following the firing, security arrangements in the entire area have been tightened, and a detailed investigation into the matter is underway.DD
