Jammu:DD, The football Tournament, organised by Jammu Police under the aegis of Civic Action Programme 2024-25, concluded successfully at Khel Gaon Ground, Nagrota.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various teams and drew a large crowd of local spectators.
SDPO Nagrota, Vinod. Kumar, Tehsildar Nagrota, Dysp Prob, SHO Nagrota, IC PP Sidhra and officers of Rural zone were also present.
Prominent members of media fraternity, and respected figures from the area were also present at the final ceremony.
SP Rural Jammu, Brijesh Sharma, JKPS graced the occasion as chief guest.
The final match was played between Nagrota Football Club and Sanik School Nagrota Football Club emerging as the champions.They beat Sanik School Nagrota by 5-1 gaols.The winning and runner-up teams were awarded cash prizes ₹ 15,000 and ₹ 10,000 respectively with trophies and other sports accessories.
Besides, all the participating teams were provided uniforms.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Rural Jammu emphasized that J&K Police is committed to engaging with youth through sports activities as a constructive initiative to steer them away from drug abuse and other social evils.
The event received widespread appreciation from the local community, particularly the youth, who hailed the efforts of the police in promoting positive and healthy engagements in Nagrota and adjacent areas.DD
