Udhampur,TDD,Police team from Police Station Chenani led by its SHO while performing routine vehicle checking at Chenani naka point, NHW recovered 17 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like substance from a vehicle (Tavera) bearing Registeration No. JK01T-1659 which was on its way from Jammu towards Srinagar, three narco smugglers (including driver) have been arrested.
The arrested persons have been identified as
Owais Ahmed Rather, resident of Pantha Chowk, Srinagar, Aqib Ashraf, and resident of Pampore, Younis resident of Wuyan Pampore, Srinagar.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 170/2024 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Chenani and the investigation is going on.
Earlier, Police team of PP Roundomail while performing routine patrolling duty at Roun- Baredian link road found one person sitting on bike bearing regd. No. JK14K-5523 which was parked on road side, on seeing police party the said person tried to flee from the spot, but was apprehended by the police party.
On frisking of the said apprehended person namely Manjit Singh S/O Thakas Dass R/O Kaghote, Ramnagar, 04.38 grams of heroin (chitta) like Contraband substance was recovered from his possession, who has been arrested on spot.
On this, a case vide FIR No. 437/2024 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act stands registered in P/S Udhampur and further investigation was set into probe.TDD
