Srinagar: DD, The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is set to take up four significant Bills for consideration and passage on Thursday, marking a busy legislative day with focus on tenancy reforms, Panchayati Raj, labour welfare and cooperatives.
According to the Assembly business schedule, the four Bills, as per the news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC listed include, the Jammu and Kashmir Tenancy Bill, 2025 (L.A. Bill No. 4 of 2025) aimed at establishing a Rent Authority to regulate renting of premises and protect the rights of landlords and tenants through a speedy adjudication system.
The Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2025 (L.A. Bill No. 5 of 2025), proposing changes to strengthen the Panchayati Raj framework established under the 1989 Act.
The Jammu and Kashmir Shops and Establishments (Licensing, Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Bill, 2025 (L.A. Bill No. 6 of 2025), to streamline labour laws and working conditions in commercial establishments.
The Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2025 (L.A. Bill No. 7 of 2025), seeking amendments to enhance the functioning of cooperative societies across the UT. —(KNC)
