Kishtwar:The Udhampur Rotary Eye and General Welfare Foundation, in collaboration with Delhi Public School (DPS), Kishtwar, organised a two-day free eye screening camp along with free spectacle distribution for the general public in Kishtwar.
The camp was inaugurated today by the Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma (JKAS), who appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of preventive eye care and community-driven healthcare programmes, especially in far-flung and hilly areas of the district.
Also present on the occasion were I/C Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kishtwar, Dr. Yudhvir Singh Kotwal, and Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kishtwar, Dr. Anil Sharma, who highlighted the role of such collaborative efforts in strengthening public health outreach.
A large number of people from different parts of the district availed the facility during the camp. Qualified medical professionals conducted detailed eye examinations, while free spectacles were distributed to needy and deserving beneficiaries on the spot.
The initiative aims to promote awareness about eye health, early detection of vision-related problems, and ensure accessible and affordable healthcare services for the people of Kishtwar. Organisers reaffirmed their commitment to continue similar welfare activities in the future for the benefit of the local population.DD
