Drass, DD, Government Degree College (GDC) Drass hosted a combined farewell and welcome ceremony to bid farewell to outgoing faculty members and to welcome newly posted staff in a warm and traditional setting.
The college community extended a heartfelt welcome to Dr. Javed Naqi, Assistant Professor Zoology, senior faculty member, who was received by the Principal of GDC Drass, Nasir Shabani. In a mark of respect and cultural tradition, Dr. Shah Niwaz Hussain, Assistant Professor Political Science, and Dr. Samina Rehman, Assistant Professor Sociology, who are being relieved from their duties at the college, were honoured with traditional Khataks by the Principal.
On the occasion, both the newly joined and outgoing faculty members shared their thoughts and reflections, expressing gratitude and best wishes for the institution and its future.
Principal Nasir ul Mehdi Shabani addressed the gathering and briefed the audience about the contributions of the outgoing faculty and the significance of new appointments in strengthening the academic environment at the college. He emphasized the college’s ongoing commitment to excellence in education and community service.
The event was attended by students, faculty members, and staff, marking it a memorable day in the academic calendar of the institution.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of uniforms to the NCC Cadets of the college, an initiative led by the Principal and coordinator NCC to further instill discipline and pride among the student body.DD
