Girls Lead the Way as Government Schools Script History in Class 12 Results

Srinagar,(DD)In a landmark moment for public education in Jammu and Kashmir, students from government schools have delivered an exceptional performance in the Class 12 board examinations, setting new academic benchmarks and winning praise from top officials.Minister for Education, Health and Medical Education, and Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo, hailed the remarkable pass percentage and commended the collective efforts of board officials, educators, and support staff for ensuring a smooth and transparent examination process. She expressed particular pride in the outstanding results of female students, calling their achievement a beacon of progress for the region’s education sector.

Joining in the celebration, Additional Chief Secretary for School and Higher Education, Shantmanu (IAS), extended his congratulations to the successful students and the teaching community. He attributed the efficient and timely declaration of results to the close coordination between educators and administrative bodies, noting that such collaboration has strengthened public confidence in the government education system.

Director of School Education Kashmir, G.N. Itoo, also expressed pride in the students’ achievements and offered special recognition to those who secured top distinctions. He highlighted the notable performance of several government schools:

GHSS Kothi Bagh, Srinagar for excellence in Home Science

GHSS Nowhatta, Srinagar for distinction in Arts

GHSS Bugam, Budgam for exceptional performance in Science

GHSS Amirakadal, Srinagar for top results in Commerce

He further applauded the relentless dedication of teachers, school heads, and parents, whose support and guidance played a crucial role in this academic milestone.

This year, 103,308 students appeared for the Class 12 examinations, with more than 77,000 successfully passing, pushing the overall pass percentage to 74.83%. In a particularly encouraging sign, girls outshone boys, securing nine of the top ten positions.

The announcement has sparked widespread celebrations across the Valley, marking a turning point for government-run schools and reaffirming their critical role in nurturing talent and delivering quality education in Jammu and Kashmir(DD)
